Summer Scream began in 1994 when God laid it on our hearts to put on a week-long camp for teenagers. We quickly grew out of our first rented facility and rented a few other campgrounds over the years, eventually growing out of each one. We decided to make a permanent investment and build our own campus in Rushville, Illinois, and over the past several years have built Summer Scream into what it is today.

Summer Scream is held at the Crossing Camp on about 30 acres in beautiful west-central Illinois, surrounded by fields, woods, and rolling hills. Around beautiful Lake Miracle you'll find our playing fields, camp facilities, and dormitories. There is plenty of fun for everyone both inside and out.

Completed in 2012, this 22,000 square foot facility is the center of activity for everything that happens at camp.

Featuring a full-size gym/auditorium; a state-of-the-art commercial kitchen and cafeteria; as well as brand new showers and dormitories, The Barn is the dream facility that we have been waiting for ever since the first Summer Scream back in 1994.

Students gather in the gym every morning and night for powerful services, and our kitchen staff serves up delicious home-cooked meals in the cafeteria. At night, the air-conditioned dormitories in The Barn's basement sleep about 100 campers, with the rest housed comfortably at The Lodge.

Campers bunk in The Lodge, our air-conditioned bunkhouse that sleeps about 250 campers.

The Lodge is also home to the Prophet's Quarters, two hotel-quality suites with a great view of Lake Miracle that house our feautured speakers and other special guests throughout the year.

During the hot days at Summer Scream, campers can cool off in our Lake and Swimming Pool.

In Lake Miracle, located at the heart of the Summer Scream Campus, campers can embark on a paddle boat or canoe, take a plunge down the waterslide, climb the Iceberg, or jump around on the water trampoline.

The Fun in the Sun continues at The Swimming Pool, where campers can cannonball to their hearts content. We even do a night swim after service every evening.

During Free Time, campers head over to The Youth Center to hang with friends, snack on some nachos or a slushie, and cool off from the hot summer weather.

Theres video games, cage basketball, pool tables, foosball, air hockey, ping pong, and plenty of room to just hang out. This is where campers really connect with each other during a week of Summer Scream.
